Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association was getting ready to launch their National Doctor and Hospital Finder that we designed for them, but first they needed to implement costs for medical procedures. To do this they needed to learn how people search for providers and what role cost and quality plays in their decision-making process. We brought in a dozen particpants for one-hour sessions that consisted of an interview as well as concept testing. The concepts showed a few variations of displaying cost and quality for procedures based off of wireframes I'd created.
